Synopsis
Leah, a retired teacher, has vowed to find her long-lost niece, Tekla. Her search takes her to Istanbul, where she meets Evrim, a lawyer fighting for transgender rights, and Tekla begins to feel closer to him than ever before.

Levan Akin’s new film captures the essence of Istanbul. The composition and cinematography combined with the strong chemistry of the main characters contribute to a wholesome story.
Mzia Arabuli is wonderful and her character is one of the best elements of the film
Storywise crossing features a fresh script by combining the humble lives of 3 people, who are coincidentally in the same situation but with different goals, creating a story that ties together tightly, showing different aspects of each character’s life. The only exception to the film was the choice of music, which didn’t make a strong impact and could definitely have been used better.
Especially in the final scene
But overall, despite being a festival film (for the biased), Crossing takes its place as one of the best films of 2024, a must-see for its unique story and characters.
